Abstract: The present study, whose theme is Literacy and Women's Education in the District of Namaacha: The cases of the Casa do Gaiato Center and the EPC Center of Changalane-2010-2011 aims to analyze the extent to which the AEA practices developed in the centers of the Casa de Gaiato and the EPC of Changalane have an impact on reducing women's dropouts in the Namaacha District. For the development of this study, the qualitative approach was applied. The data collection instruments were semi-structured interviews, document analysis and observation. The interviews were applied to 22 informants, including literacy teachers, literacy students, women dropping out of literacy classes residing in the village of Changalane, district education authorities and community leaders, which allowed the verification of the reliability of the responses. Thus, the study concluded that Casa do Gaiato has invested in the development of innovative practices to overcome the difficulties and problems faced in the literacy process with a view to reducing women's dropouts. The content of the literacy classes given in the center of Casa do Gaiato is related to the practical activities developed in Changalane.
