Abstract: The main objective of this research was to analyze the factors that influence the quality of teaching-learning in basic education in the 5th class of the complete schools Benfica Nova and Khongolote. The research questions that the study sought to answer are: 1- To what extent the quality of the teaching-learning process of students in the 5th grade of Basic Education at Complete Schools of Benfica Nova and Khongolote is influenced by the following school factors: (a) weekly workload and instruction time, (b) availability and use of teaching resources in the classroom and at home, (c) class size, (d) parental or guardian participation in the school life of their students, (and ) school management 2- What is the perception of parents and guardians about the socio-cultural factors that influence the quality of the teaching-learning process? In order to answer the questions mentioned above, this investigation followed qualitative case study approaches characterized by the collection and analysis of data regarding the factors that are presumed to influence the quality of the teaching - learning process in those schools. For this, interviews were conducted, questionnaires were answered and observations were made in classrooms. A sample consisting of 65 elements (including school principals, teachers, students, parents or guardians) was selected for convenience. The results revealed that the workload and instruction time, availability and use of teaching resources in the classroom, class size, poor participation of parents and guardians in the school life of their students, the semi-automatic passage system, leadership and school management, early pregnancy, early marriage, distance between the school and the community as factors that negatively influence the teaching-learning process. In general, this study recommends that the education sector authorities build and rehabilitate more classrooms in order to reduce the teacher-student ratio and to increase the amount of teaching material allocated to schools (TRADUÇÃO NOVA)
