Abstract:
Digital innovation has become increasingly important for economic growth in Mozambique,
especially for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). This study aims to analyze
how digital innovation can contribute to the economic growth of mozambican MSMEs, identifying
the main barriers and challenges faced in the implementation of digital technologies.
To achieve this objective, were carried out a bibliographical review on the subject, questionnaires
with owners, managers and employees of MSMEs operating in Maputo City, and interviews with
associations that represent these companies. The empirical data collected revealed that MSME's
face barriers related to lack of financial resources, technical skills, infrastructure, knowledge and
information, in addition to government regulations.
However, the adoption of digital innovation can bring significant benefits, such as increasing the
efficiency and productivity of companies, reducing operating costs and expanding the scope of
business. Digital innovation in mozambican MSMEs has contributed to the country's economic
growth, as these companies represent a significant part of the business sector and play an important
role in generating jobs and stimulating local development.
It is important to emphasize that this study has some limitations, such as the limited availability of
information on the use of digital technologies in mozambican MSMEs and difficulties in accessing
some companies. However, the results obtained can serve as a basis for understanding the reality
of the companies surveyed and as a reference for future work in the same area of study
