dc.description.abstract	A partir del perfil de Charity Ekezie en TikTok, esta investigación explora las redes sociales como medios alternativos para hacer frente a la imagen negativa asociada a África subsahariana. La metodología empleada se basa en la triangulación de métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos, combinando el análisis de contenido, el análisis narrativo y la entrevista en profundidad. A través de una muestra de 45 vídeos del perfil de Charity Ekezie publicados entre los años 2022 y 2023, examinamos los temas, comentarios estereotipados y contenidos de mayor impacto, con el objetivo de comprender cómo Charity utiliza la plataforma como herramienta para deconstruir estereotipos en el contexto occidental. De los 45 analizados, seleccionamos 11vídeos para analizar cómo utiliza los recursos narrativos, la puesta en escena y el sarcasmo en ese proceso. Las redes sociales, especialmente TikTok ofrecen un espacio para aumentar la visibilidad de las voces africanas y construir otras visiones y significados sobre el continente africano. El sarcasmo y el humor con la que Ekezie comunica su mensaje contribuye a atraer a un público más amplio, ayuda a dar visibilidad a su perfil, así como a concienciar sobre la diversidad y la complejidad de África.	en_US

dc.description.resumo	Based on Charity Ekezie's profile on TikTok, this research explores social media as an alternative means to challenge the negative image associated with Sub-Saharan Africa. The methodology employed is based on the triangulation of qualitative and quantitative methods, combining content analysis, narrative analysis, and in-depth interviews. Through a sample of 45 vídeos from Charity Ekezie's profile published between 2022 and 2023, we examined the themes, stereotypical comments, and impactful content, aiming to understand how Charity uses the platform as a tool to deconstruct stereotypes in the Western context. Out of the 45 analyzed, we selected 11 vídeos to analyze how she uses narrative resources, staging, and sarcasm in this process. Social media, especially TikTok, provides a space to increase the visibility of African voices and build alternative visions and meanings about the African continent. The sarcasm and humor with which Ekezie communicates her message contribute to attracting a wider audience, helping to raise visibility for her profile as well as raising awareness about the diversity and complexity of Africa.	en_US
