Abstract:
Some compounds persist in the environment and studies reveal their negative action negative action on public health, such as endocrine system dysregulation. Being the food chain is the main route of its propagation in the environment, its quantification in food products has become very important. In this study, a modification of the method QuEChERS method based on the replacement of the adsorbent Primary Secondary Amine (PSA) by the protein moringa seed protein (Mor-p). The analytical recovery tests using standard β- HCH, Υ-HCH, cypermethrin, p'p-DDD, p'p-DDT, 4-nonylphenol and profenofos were made using 1% acetic acid in acetonitrile:methanol (90:10) as the solvent as the extraction solvent. A identification and quantification of the organic compounds in GC-MS showed recoveries analytical recoveries in cabbage samples that ranged from 104-107% for β-HCH, 74-110% for Υ- HCH, 69-90% for cypermethrin, 84-94% for p'p-DDD, 86-108% for p'p-DDT, 81-114% for 4-nonylphenol and 80-94% for profenofos. In fish samples the analytical recoveries ranged from 71-83% for β-HCH, 91-96% for Υ-HCH, 71-82% for cypermethrin, 86-88% for p'p-DDD, 74-88% for p'p-DDT, 102-110% for 4-nonylphenol and 58-59% for for profenofos.
The results of the GCxGC/TOFMS analyses of samples, demonstrated a presence of Υ-HCH, p,p'-DDD and p,p'-DDT in cabbage samples, β-HCH, cypermethrin, p,p'-DDD, p,p'-DDT, 4-nonylphenol and profenofos in cabbage samples. By on the other hand, Υ- HCH, p,p'-DDD and 4-nonylphenol were quantified in fish samples. The concentrations of these compounds in the analyzed samples were above the maximum limits established by Codex alimentarius, except for cypermethrin. The results of validation validation results indicated potential application of Mor-p as an alternative adsorbent for the quantification of persistent organic compounds from raw foods, including vegetables and fish, with the exception of profenofos in the fish matrix. The evaluation of
toxicity toxicity indices (PTI) with values of 31.83, 30.50 and 23.98 for cabbage, head cabbage and fish, respectively, highlights a health risk associated with the consumption consumption of these food sold in Mozambican markets(TRADUÇÃO NOSSA)
