Abstract:
This dissertation entitled “Development of an Integrated School Management System: Case of the Secondary School Estrela Vermelha ”intends to develop an Integrated School Management System in order to improve the management in ESEV. In the development of this research, the inductive approach was followed and the Estrela Vermelha Secondary School was selected as a case study. The data collection techniques used were document analysis, open interview and document analysis. The interview was applied to four (4) main managers of the Escola Secundária Estrela Vermelha because they constitute the fundamental elements in decision making at the institution level. Due to the advantages, disadvantages and the applicability of the software models, the incremental model was chosen - Modeling technique that combines the advantages of the cascade model and the evolutionary model - as ideal for the development of the Integrated System (IS). According to the IS developed in this research, the school secretary performs the information management in a useful way using the centralized computer in a Database (BD). Information centralized in the BD can be accessed by all levels of decision-making units of the school organization at any time. And, any update in the BD will be felt in all connected units, facilitating the form of elaboration and control of school data in general. System users can access through password-based authentication (Password). With the implementation of the model developed in this study, it is expected an improved, efficient, safe and rational management of the resources administered by the school secretary, since the information will be more easily available through the Integrated System, in which all users can be in contact. network
