Abstract:
In an increasingly competitive market, organizations need to strengthen their relations with their employees, in order to be guided by a more participative management, in order to respond to the demands of a market of uncertainties and constantly changing. Organizational communication is seen as one of the indispensable factors for the success of management processes in organizations, providing greater motivation, collaboration and employee identity with the organization's objectives. This study aims to analyze the role of communication in the functioning and development of a teaching organization, using the Pedagogical University as a case study. The research methodology used was predominantly quantitative in nature with qualitative support, using a questionnaire as the main data collection instrument. This research also used the interview and observation to complete the information in the questionnaires. Officials from the administrative staff and officials in management and leadership positions were surveyed. As a main result of this study, it can be seen that communication plays, in fact, a predominant role in the pursuit of organizational objectives, and that the way managers deal with their employees influences their performance in the tasks to be performed. Several factors were identified that contribute to motivation, the main ones being the open dialogue, the work environment, the incentives and the involvement of all stakeholders in the decision-making process
