Abstract:
This study aims to assess the level of understanding of the actors involved in th e Education Process regarding the assessment of the learning in the 3 rd basic education cycle . The study was conducted with the aim to analyze how the actors of the education process, namely , technicians, school managers, teachers, students and parents and / or guardians understand the process of assessing the students’ learning. S pecifically, the study aims to (i) characterize the process of the learners’ assessment ; (ii) identify the role of the actors of this process; (iii) analyze the actors’ perceptio n of the process of assessing learners ; and ( i v) establish the relationship between the role of the education actors and assessment results of the learners . This is a qualitative study conducted through literature review and documental analysis. The data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, participant observation involving a sample of 60 elements . The result s of this study showed that , the assessment of the learning in the schools continue to be traditional ( classificatory ); the role of the actors of the assessment process is to help students in their learning; for the actors of the education process , assessment of the learning in the schools is only to promote learners ; the role of the actors of the education process in assess ing the learnin g is determinant in the acquision of knowledge by the students. Furthermore , the study allowed concluding that, the integration of theory and practical during the assessment of the learning within the target school still a great challenge. Thus, a joint e ffort by every education actors is needed, i.e ., the role of each involved actor in this process is decisive for gradually construction of knowledge by the and, consequently improving the quality of education
