Abstract: The present dissertation aims to analyze the contribution of refugees from the region of thegreat lakes of Africa, in the social transformations and productive organization of theBoane district, one of the places of their reception in Mozambique. The study was madepossible through the qualitative approach using the ethnographic method. This methodallowed us to verify, characterize and understand the meanings and actions of refugees atthe site of reception, in the light of Weber's comprehensive theories of action and GiddensStructure. Through this study, it was found that, before the presence of refugees the districtlacked semi-colletary transport, until the year 2000 had larger minibus types that took overan hour to reach the city of Maputo. The arrival of these individuals has boosted theincrease of 15 -seat small cars for passenger transport, which travel the same distance fromBoane to Maputo City in less time. Likewise, the district lacked stores to obtain firstneedproducts, only two stores provided products to the entire population of Vila-Sede and thesurrounding regions, namely the District Warehouse and the Bulafu House. In this sense, the population of the district moved to purchase food products and various, such as oil, sugar, rice, beans, among others, in the city of Maputo. It is also observed that commercialestablishments had a modus fasciend different from those brought by those. Theestablishments at the time had a small window whose counters did not allow muchexposure of their products. Refugees to settle in stores, created windows with largeropenings that allow large exposure of the products, and therefore sales advantages, havingstarted the use of containers to serve as stores. It should be noted that refugee stores, inaddition to better exposing their products, are fixed in strategic places, preferably along theroads, and were currently expanding to the neighborhoods, raising the income of nationalsonce that they fix their stores in such backyards. In their stores, they adopted the use ofelectronic scale, to the detriment of the mug used to measure products by national traders, which facilitated the purchasing power of Mozambicans having made each citizenpurchase products in any quantities, thus improving the diet of these. This is led somenational citizens to adopt the way of making refugees, starting with the sales system incontainers. Moreover, it is observed in the district in reference, young people who work in commercialestablishments of refugees, which contributed to the reduction of unemployment of thelargest number of young people in the district.
