Abstract: Background: Prostate cancer (Ca P) is the second most prevalent type of cancer in men, with approximately 1,4 million new cases in 2020, representing about 7,3% of all cancer cases worldwide. CaP ranked second among the most frequent cancers in men in Mozambique, with 16,5% (1657) of new cancers. Objective: The present study analyzed the demographic, histological and clinical profile of patients with prostate cancer in the Oncology Service of the Hospital Central de Maputo from January 2018 to January 2022. Methodology: A hospital-based, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out, with a quantitative approach, using secondary data, which included 59 patients with prostate cancer treated at the Oncology Service of Hospital Central de Maputo between 2018 and 2022. Data were extracted from the patients' clinical files. and analyzed using the IBM SPSS version 20 statistical data analysis application. Results: Of the 59 patients in the study, the mean age was 65 ± 8,9. All of participants (100%) had prostate adenocarcinoma with a Gleason score between 8 and 10 present in 59,3% of patients. Obstructive symptoms and those associated with invasion of neighboring structures were the most frequent and PSA >25ng/mL was predominant in 89,8% of patients. There was no relationship between demographic and clinical characteristics, nor between histological and clinical characteristics. Conclusion and recommendation: In the studied population, prostate adenocarcinoma is the most common among patients with prostate cancer. Updated epidemiological studies are needed throughout the country, with the aim of understanding the burden of prostate cancer in the Mozambican male population and its risk factors.
